Japan's national fruit: the persimmon.

Delicately nurtured in the land of clear streams, Gifu Prefecture, Fuyu Persimmons are bursting with juice and flavor.
Its spectacular shape and color are said to be reminiscent of the sun, earning Fuyu Persimmons the nickname "King of Persimmons." Modern-day descendants can be traced to the original tree cultivated in 1857 and named in 1898.

Fuyu Persimmons are as tasty as they are healthy. A persimmon usually has more vitamin C than a lemon, and can easily provide the average adult with their daily dose of this critical nutrient.

The perfect addition to your next charcuterie board, best enjoyed with cottage cheese or a slice of prosciutto.

How to Best Enjoy Your Fuyu Persimmons:
Firm Fuyu persimmons : Rich, satisfyingly crisp skin and flesh.
Ripe Fuyu persimmons : Melt in your mouth and explode with a sugary, nectar-like flavor.
BONUS TIP:  Freeze Fuyu persimmons and consume when half-thawed to experience a sherbert-like luxury dessert.
