"The season for Mini Persimmon has already ended. See you again next fall!"

The best things come in small packages.

Mini Persimmons are a rare premium fruit, even in Japan. These luxurious kaki (persimmon in Japanese) gems were first cultivated in 1981 and are still only grown in two prefectures: Niigata and Gifu. Though they’re about 1/10th the size of a regular asian persimmon, don’t let their size fool you! They’re just as sweet, if not sweeter, than your average fruit. Among Japanese persimmon varieties, these tiny treasures stand out for their exceptional flavor and charm.

Naturally, many kaki persimmons are astringent, but not Mini Persimmons. Thanks to a special farming technique using carbon dioxide gas and temperature control, all astringency is removed, ensuring a succulent sweetness in every bite of fruit. Mini Persimmons are completely seed-free and best enjoyed without peeling. Savor the crisp, nutrient-rich skin along with the enchanting sweetness of the soft, nectary first bite. It’s the perfect expression of Japanese persimmons at their most delicate.

How to Best Enjoy Your Mini Persimmons:
Firm Mini persimmons: Rich, satisfyingly crisp skin and flesh.
Ripe Mini persimmons: Melt in your mouth and explode with a sugary, nectar-like flavor.
BONUS TIP:  Freeze Mini persimmons and consume when half-thawed to experience a sherbert-like luxury dessert.

16~18 grains
