Nara Strawberry Lab is a team of 5 farmers from Nara Prefecture that dream of expanding the world's definition of strawberries. It's their mission to create delicious strawberries that will inspire the world to love strawberries even more. These strawberries have been adopted as welcome fruits in luxury hotels in Las Vegas, serving as a symbol of hospitality and exquisite treats for guests.
The white strawberry variety, "Pearl White", was developed by Koki Maeda of Nara Strawberry Lab. When white strawberries were first discovered in the wilderness, they were too sour and far from delicious. Koki Maeda challenged himself to create the sweetest, juiciest white strawberry, which led to the birth of "Pearl White".
Nara Strawberry Lab ships these precious fruits in a unique package called "Yuricargo", named after "yurikago" meaning "cradle" in Japanese. The "Yuricargo" is a hand-made cushioned container in which the strawberries are protected like a cradle during transport to avoid any scratches or bruising.
To maintain an optimal environment for the strawberries, temperature and humidity are constantly controlled. After harvesting, every single strawberry undergoes thorough inspection by skilled inspectors. Because strawberries are so delicate and susceptible to impact, they're handled with human hands with the utmost precision and gentleness — like caressing a baby's cheek.
