A popular Japanese wintertime citrus, Unshu Mikan is the pride and joy of Japanese mandarins, also called Satsuma Mandarins. A delicate capsule overflowing with sweet juices whose heavenly notes are gently conducted by a seasoned baton of acidity. Palm-sized and easy to peel, this traditional Japanese fruit provides a glimmer of light through the long winter months.

Unshu Mikans reach their peak sweetness when the outside is a pure orange color and has an even smattering of bumps along the skin.

For the best taste experience:
Store them in a cool, breathable place. If kept in the box, keep the box open and consume the mikans from the bottom first.

Our farmers are genuinely excited to share this favorite Japanese tradition with the world.

The sweet secret to premium Unshu Mikans.

Delicious Unshu Mikan comes down to two rules: good drainage and good sunlight. Balancing the amount of sunlight exposure each mikan tree experiences along with how much water they absorb keeps these fruits in premium form. White sheets are placed around the trees to increase the amount of sunlight and to restrict the amount of water they receive. The farmers' meticulous monitoring keeps the mikans from becoming too watery and ensures their sweetness.
