Akiou is a Japanese sweet persimmon developed by Fukuoka Prefecture over approximately a decade and first sold in 2015. Its name means "King of Autumn," reflecting its rich sweetness, crisp texture, and vivid orange-red skin. With very few seeds, Akiou offers a distinctive way to enjoy Japan’s autumn fruit.
