"Bijinhime", or "beatiful princess", is an original variety from Okuda Farm known for its captivating sweetness as well as each strawberry's prodigious size. The average strawberry is around 1.5 oz., but the average Bijinhime strawberry is almost double that. These larger-than-life beauties are the result of the tireless refinement of the growing process by Okuda Farms. Consistently growing large strawberries that retain this spectacular appearance, flavor, and shape is almost unheard of.

For over 50 years, Mikio Okuda of Okuda Farm in Gifu Prefecture has dedicated his life to strawberry cultivation. Through decades of refinement, his craftsmanship has given birth to a strawberry unlike any other. Bijinhime is distinguished by its remarkable beauty, delicate aroma, and refined sweetness—placing it in a class of its own. Created from scratch by Mr. Okuda, it remains a strawberry that only he can produce.

Mikio Okuda's Strawberry Passion

Meet Mikio Okuda, the owner of Okuda Farm whose dream is to create the perfect strawberry. From the age of 21, Mikio Okuda has dedicated his life to the cultivation of luxury Japanese strawberries. He has worked with strawberry brands like "Toyonoka", "Fukuba", and "Benizuru". He dedicated 13 years to studying strawberry research to create the extra-large "Bijinhime" variety.
